A much-craved steamed fish led us to Restaurant Ker Jia Zhuang on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Despite the post-lunch hour, the spacious, two-shophouse restaurant was welcoming, with ample seating including a large table for bigger groups and a couple of outdoor options. We ordered a satisfying spread of five dishes. The star, the Ginger Steam Golden Snapper, was the very reason for our visit and it did not disappoint—fresh, flaky, and perfectly cooked. The Kam Yong Chicken was a standout, its savory and aromatic sauce leaving a lasting impression. Equally delightful was the Stir-fried Kale with Garlic, a simple dish executed with great wok-hey. Even the humble fried egg was done well. Portions here are notably generous; their "small" is larger than the standard at many other eateries. This, coupled with the fresh ingredients and skillful cooking, helps justify the slightly premium pricing. The steamed snapper came to RM 80, while other dishes were reasonably priced between RM 15 to RM 18. Service was another high point; the staff were attentive and the lady at the counter was particularly helpful. For a satisfying meal of well-executed home-style dishes in a comfortable setting, Restaurant Ker Jia Zhuang is a solid choice. We left planning our next visit.

This restaurant specializes in home-style Hakka cuisine, offering a comforting taste of tradition. The interior exudes a serene "Zen" ambiance, featuring Chinese calligraphy, poetry, and warm wooden accents that create a pleasant dining experience. Their menu boasts many renowned dishes, such as the yam basket served with sweet & sour sauce or Kung Pao chicken, fragrant claypot pork lard mixed rice, and rich crabmeat tofu soup. However, the true highlight is their slow-simmered soup, which is exceptionally flavorful. Portions are generous, making it more suitable for larger groups. While the quality is excellent, the prices lean on the higher side.

A good place for hakka cuisine. Four of us were trying to order medium/large size dishes, the lady advised to take small size instead. Food is tasty, clean environment. Will come back again.

This restaurant served home recipe hakka style dishes, originally from Bukit Serdang. The interior design very "Zen" with many chinese calligraphy and poetry, wooden feel as create very pleasant dining experience. Here have many reknown dishes like yam basket serve with sweet & sour pour or kongpo chicken, claypot pork lard mix rice (fragrant), crabmeat tofu soup etc All in all, the best will be their 老火炖汤(old/long fire stew soup), really tasty! Price wise is not cheap tough.
